Masquerade; Paper faces on parade....

Is chivarly dead in our society today? Should I really be that surprised when I see someone opening the door for someone else? I am still quite surprised when someone holds open the door for me, and I find that rather sad that I should be surprised by it.

My mom and I were discussing this on Sunday because we were waiting for my dad to grab the car after we went to lunch and while we were standing there, a middle aged man pulled up and got out of the car to come over and help his mother into the car and made sure she was in before closing the door for her. We were commenting that you don't see things like that often. We both find it rather sad.

Wow...I've been out of touch for far too long. Just getting caught up on some blogs...sounds like you have a lot going on...as always.

In answer to your question here: No chivalry isn't dead - yet. It's rare and hard to find (especially in the men of younger generations), but believe it or not, it does still exist. The current man in my life (who is pretty fantastic) opens doors for me everywhere we go. And it's not just because we're dating...he does it for women in general. Few & far between, but they do exist.
