I'm getting restless, I'm getting tested...

Oh it has been another one of those weeks, but it least it has ended quite nicely even if I am rather miserable at the moment. As far as work goes, it seemed to drag on and on and never end. For those of you that are familiar with U of M hospital though, you will understand my joy of participating in (and getting a space) with the off-shift parking program. They created a lottery system for those people that work an off-shift (i.e., start between 10-1 or something like that) that they can park in one of two patient parking structures thus essentially guaranteeing them a space provided they have a blue parking pass. Well, I managed to be lucky enough to get one of those lucky spaces, so for the time being, I don't have to get to work unGodly early to fight for a parking space after paying whatever the current going rate is for a blue space (something around $50 some a month). I can now leave the house 20 minutes before my shift starts and still manage to have time to say hi to my mom after clocking in! I am thrilled! So that was a big plus for this past Monday. Also on Monday, I started my new prescription of Vitamin D for my newest health pleasure: a Vitamin D deficiency. This could be what is attributing to some-to-all of my joint pain, but that will remain to be seen as we are not sure how long I have had this deficiency (which is from a lack of sunlight). I guess being pale no longer pays off for me. :) Also, by Monday we had back all of my lab work from my doctor's appointment last week and I am now convinced that I am a freak of science. By the time they figure out one thing wrong with me, three more have popped up. Oh well, I am now starting to feel like a veritable pantheon of pills. Ick! Unfortunately, Tuesday could not have been as joyful as it brought on the need for more pills yet. I woke up all stuffy and feeling lightheaded, which didn't start off my first week on Tylenol as all that fun. (Did I fail to mention that my doctor took me off my prescription painkiller and wants me to take Tylenol instead because it better for me? Am I suddenly unaware of how bad that much Tylenol can be for you? Oh well, He's a doctor! LMAO!) Wednesday morning I woke up with a perfectly clear head but a throat from hell. It was quite scratchy and hurt beyond anything to talk, chew, breathe, think, etc. Then Wednesday, the throat and head were fine, but I kept getting stabbing pains in my kidney region and since they couldn't get me in at the doctors, the nurse sent me to Urgent Care.... Hurray for Wednesday. And not unsurprisingly, the doctor couldn't explain the stabbing pains except that they might be the start of a cold. By Friday the stabbing persisted into a dull, constant pain over most of my back, which I was glad for as Susan and I had dinner plans. She shares my same affinity for hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants so we went to La Fiesta Mexicana, which I am now in love with! During this time, I managed to develop a nice, hacking cough. After dinner, we went to Sidetracks (a joint favorite) for a few drinks and I finally got to see an old friend that works there. I seem to always go there on Friday nights and even though he works 60-80 hours a week, he never seems to be there when I go in. We then came back here and I passed out while watching them play Tekken. I don't think I managed to get a consecutive hour of sleep last night as I kept waking up because I couldn't breathe. Today we had to go out because tomorrow (well now today) is our niece's 6th birthday party and we had to get her present. We got her the one thing that she wanted that was left to get her and then decided to get her something artsy and I found this tattoo gun for kids and insisted we get it. We called my sister-in-law and she thinks it sounds awesome as well! Since we were already out, I dragged Brian to various stores for misc. errands but I don't think he ended up minding too much as he got a game and he finally got to go with me to pick out incense. So now after sitting around having a nice and relaxing evening, I am just waiting for my NyQuil to kick in a little bit more so that I can actually sleep. Wish me luck for at least 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep!
