If you are chilly, here take my sweater.

Knock on wood..... things have been going quite well lately. (We are always hesitant to say this at work because as fate would have it, within minutes of uttering this innocuous little phrase all hell proceeds to break loose) Here to hoping that doesn't happen since I didn't actually verbalize it though!

I have quite enjoyed the last couple of weeks. I got to spend an entire day with my parents a few weeks ago when my mom and I took the dogs to a DIY dog-bathhouse. They smell much better now! Later on that day my dad and I got to spend some time together wandering around Ikea debating about mattresses and bed frames, which was nice. It seems like I never get to spend much time with him anymore. I miss my parents more than I ever really thought I would.... especially since I still see them quite often, but there's just something about three people fighting over one bathroom that you don't appreciate while you have it! :)

Then this past weekend, Kel and I went to Ikea and bought a bed.... a present from my mom. I was kind of annoyed that he took over putting it together. But at the same time, I could tell that he was picturing a certain leaning bookcase and then imagining the bed collapse when he laid down on it, so I'm not too upset. So needless to say, we now have a grown-up bed.... not a futon.... and not an air mattress (don't ask). We have almost gotten our bedroom completely done, so I'm ecstatic. This morning he out up the dining room table and now the nice semi-big open space outside of my kitchen is no longer, but we will soon need the table.

I wanted to have some friends over since we moved, so I planned a taco night/ housewarming which will take place in about a week and a half now. I did this partially because I love having people over, and partially because I knew that it would give me a deadline to have to have everything done by.... I think this concept is a little lost on Kel still, but oh well.... I have a week and a half to go. Although we aren't doing that bad (as long as you ignore the fact that we have now lived here just barely over a month and I still have two boxes that I am in denial about dealing with). Basically all we have left to do is finish the game room, run cable to the game room, move the bed, move the china, deal with those two boxes I am ignoring, and finish decorating. Wow, now I feel very intimidated by it all.... is it too late to delete some of that? On the plus side, all clothes are now organized and out of sight and all shoes are now organized.

In light of the seemingly endless unpacking, things seem to be going quite well as long as I ignore this cold that I am hoping is almost gone. And on this note, I am gonna go crawl into bed some more so I can drag myself out of said (new!!!) bed in a mere few hours to go into work. I love being an adult!
