The littlest things that take me there

Yay! So we have lately (as in the past 4 days) been in a mad rush to find a new place. Technically we have until the end of next month to stay in our current place, but this past weekend our bathroom ceiling decided that it wanted in on whatever fun it thought it was missing and started peeing on us. I am pretty sure that the tub above ours is what is causing the leak, but I still don't appreciate the ceiling taking it upon itself to do this! :(

Because of this, I decided that I wanted to get a jump on things sooner rather than later, and so started the apartment hunting. I spent a good 4 days looking at various places online trying to decide what was even worth going to look at. We had already decided that I would pick my top 3 and then TSTBX could pick one out of those 3. So we went and looked at one yesterday that I was ok with but he didn't like. This morning we went to look at another one that was just south of town and had a nice "grown-up" vibe to it. It didn't feel like most of the other places around that are just full of students. He loved it, so we filled out the application and went on all day hoping for the best. I had already sent up an appt. for this evening to check out one more place, so we decided that we would at least go but we knew we liked the other place. Well, it's a good thing we went to place #3 as we toured this townhouse that we both fell in love with. It was kinda funny because I LOVED it but didn't want to say anything because I knew how much he liked the other place and felt that was fine. Well the agent was asking us what we thought and he actually said that he liked it more than #2. At that point the leasing agent knew we were a done deal as I just broke into the biggest grin. At that point I was definitely sold! It's a two story townhouse that is close to double our current square footage.

I just love it. Even empty it feels like a grown-up's place, not like a place for transient college students (which we kinda still are, but the sense of maturity is a big motivator!) So as of September 1st, I will once again get to go about the whole process of changing our address for everything again.

After that point, guests are welcome to stop by and look around, or help us move, or even just drop of some homemade cookies! Change of address cards coming soon!
